The world is my laboratory! You guys can call me Tropos, if you like... I'm a budding (heh) scientist and a fan of many things including but not limited to Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Free!, Persona Series, Homestuck, Hetalia, and many more.

-Henry was a “normal-looking bloke”? Really, John, you should become a professional author!

It’s actually just a collar with a very short leash.
you know how SNK has these bio sheets at the beginning of each manga?
and whenever a character dies, their picture is show in the following volume with an X over their face?
then, in the volume after that, their picture is taken out entirely
BUT DO YOU KNOW WHO’S FRECKLY ASSHOLE
KEEPS SHOWING UP
IN EVERY MANGA?
That’s just digging in the knife…
Perhaps it’s a signal of future return.
Ok so this is (I’m serious it really is) the dream I had last night:
A pair of thirteen or fourteen year old homeless genderqueer/genderfluid con artists who have a completely alien outlook on society (having grown up almost entirely without adult influence) survive and amuse themselves by committing minor crimes before undertaking the ultimate scam — tricking an exclusive local charter school into letting them enroll. One secretly is curious about what being in school is like, while the other is seeking their missing older brother, who attended said school. The former assumes the identity of a shy, nervous girl (in reality they’re a rather manipulative, collected, confident type) while the latter assumes the identity of a brash, boisterous boy (in actuality they’re contemplative, retiring, and empathetic). Both of their true personalities are buried under countless layers of false roles and personae, to the point where they don’t even think of themselves as having real names. It soon turns out that the academy is full of eerie spirits who enact scenes of exaggerated but topical caricatures of the education system in America after hours, led by a haunting visage from a composite statue in the school garden, known as the Insanity Mask.
The fact that the two of them are genderqueer/genderfluid (it’s a mixture of both — as their true selves neither of them has any gender, and as the various disguises and roles they play they can easily switch between genders) has to do with their completely self-sufficient upbringing. They were never taught restrictive values about what makes a boy a boy or a girl a girl, and they just learned to be either one, depending on what served their purposes. They’re totally alienated from the rest of the world, and they kind of enjoy living by their wits and their talents.
An example of a con they pulled in the dream was telling a jewelry store owner who had a pit bull chained outside that if this dog was fed a raw, juicy steak every day, then it would become a ferocious man-eater and would scare away any thieves. In fact, every day the two kids take the steak for themselves and leave about a fourth of it for the lazy, mild-mannered dog.
Am I totally loony or is this actually a good story idea?
